FARAH DEEN

Farah is a charismatic dancer, choreographer, curator, and educator who enriches the international dance scene with her warm-hearted nature. Based in Vienna, she specializes in House Dance and has played a pivotal role in shaping the European dance battle landscape over the past 16 years.

In 2006, she co-founded Potpourri Dance - an association and dance company focusing on Street & Club Styles and youth development to promote Street & Club Styles and support young talents. In 2009, she established the international street dance festival "Flavourama", now a major global event. In addition to curating dancers, DJs, panelists, and teachers for her festival, Deen has also co-curated Public Moves Salzburg for ImPulsTanz Festival Vienna.

As a performer and choreographer, she has been showcasing her own artform on stages across Europe, the US, South Africa, and Southeast Asia, performing at dance theatre festivals, international battles, or local community events. She also created projects like “4 A.M. - A House Dance Piece” and “Vakuum”.

Her artistic collaborations encompass a wide range of styles and genres, reflecting her belief in not limiting herself artistically or as a dancer. Whether within the House and Hip-Hop Community or the Contemporary Dance scene, she continually embraces new forms of expression, showcasing her adaptability and innovative spirit. Currently, Deen is immersing herself in the traditional dances of Sri Lanka, her ancestral home, to enrich her artistic journey.
